Nationwide Building Society is expressing gratitude to its members through The Big Nationwide Thank You, a £50 bonus to over 12 million eligible members. This gesture acknowledges the members' role in strengthening Nationwide's financial position, enabling the acquisition of Virgin Money on October 1, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the £50 payment, you must have been a Nationwide member as of September 30, 2024. This includes holding a current account, mortgage, or savings account with the society. Additionally, you need to have conducted at least one transaction or maintained a balance of £100 or more in the 12 months leading up to September 30, 2024.

Payment Distribution

The £50 payment will be automatically deposited into your Nationwide account by April 30, 2025. The specific account receiving the payment depends on the types of accounts you hold:

• Current Account Holders: The payment will be credited to your current account.

• Savings Account Holders: If you don't have a current account, the payment will go into your instant access or limited access savings account.

• Joint Account Holders: If you only have a joint account, both account holders will receive the £50 payment into that account.

• Other Account Types: For accounts like Cash ISAs, Fixed Rate Bonds, Child Trust Funds, Junior ISAs, or trust-held accounts, a cheque will be sent by May 14, 2025, to the address on file.

How to Verify Your Bonus

To confirm your eligibility and check if you've received the £50 bonus:

1. Online Banking: Log in to Nationwide's online banking platform to view your account transactions. Immediately as you log in you’ll see a banner stating that you’re eligible to receive the bonus.

2. Contact Nationwide: If you haven't received the payment by April 30, 2025, reach out to Nationwide's customer service for assistance.

Be Cautious of Scams

Fairer Share Payment - £100

It's important to note that The Big Nationwide Thank You is separate from the Fairer Share Payment. While the thank-you payment is a one-time bonus, the Fairer Share Payment is an annual distribution based on Nationwide's financial performance. The decision regarding the 2025 Fairer Share Payment will be announced upon the release of Nationwide's financial results for the 2024/25 fiscal year.
