Crown Cards is an online pack-opening platform where you can reveal collectible cards, view them in your inventory and choose between the available sell-back and shipping options. Its range includes Pokémon and sports cards, with professionally graded cards featured on the platform. Open Packs, Get Real Graded Cards

New users can enter referral code and make the qualifying deposit displayed in their account to unlock a free referral pack. The required deposit was £15.07 at the point of writing, although this can change.

Before joining, there are several things worth understanding: a free pack does not guarantee a particular cash return, your deposited balance may have withdrawal restrictions, and the volatility setting changes the type of results you are likely to see.

This guide explains the referral offer, how pack settings work and what our withdrawal quotes tell us about cashing out.

Referral disclosure: My Side Gig may receive a referral reward if you use our code and complete the qualifying requirements.

Is the free referral pack worth £75 or more?

Do not treat the advertised pack figure as guaranteed cash.

There are several different figures you might encounter:

FigureWhat it means
Pack price or advertised pack valueThe figure attached to the pack
Maximum pullThe highest possible outcome advertised
Revealed card valueThe estimated value displayed for your actual card
Sell-back offerThe amount offered when you choose to sell
Withdrawal amount receivedThe cash remaining after withdrawal fees

For example, a pack advertising a high maximum pull can still produce a much lower-value card.

Read wording such as “up to”, “minimum value” and “maximum pull” carefully. They describe different things.

Until the pack explicitly guarantees a minimum card value, you should not assume the referral offer gives you £75 to withdraw.

How does Crown Cards work?

You choose a pack, inspect its contents and open it to reveal an item. The resulting card appears in your inventory, where the platform provides the available options.

Selling back means accepting the offer displayed in your account. Shipping means requesting physical delivery and paying the applicable charges.

Crown Cards’ current web FAQ also says cards that are not shipped are automatically sold back after seven days. Check the timer on each item rather than assuming it can remain in your inventory indefinitely. CrownCards

Normal, High, Max and Ultra explained

Crown Cards displays Normal, High, Max and Ultra volatility buttons on supported pack pages, alongside its contents and odds. app.crowncards.io

Volatility describes how uneven the possible results are. A more volatile setting generally places greater emphasis on less frequent, larger outcomes, alongside more disappointing results.

The exact distribution matters more than the setting’s name.

SettingGeneral interpretationWhat to inspect
NormalThe baseline distributionMinimum outcome and spread of values
HighA more uneven distributionWhich lower and higher outcomes become more likely
MaxA stronger emphasis on infrequent larger outcomesHow often the lower-value outcomes occur
UltraThe most extreme setting in the available rangeThe downside as well as the headline potential

These descriptions explain the concept, rather than guaranteeing identical behaviour across every pack. Switch between the settings and compare the actual percentages shown.

Does Ultra give you the best return?

Not necessarily.

A bigger possible pull is different from a better average return. Ultra should not be described as a trick for increasing guaranteed profit.

Before choosing a setting, compare:

  • The minimum possible outcome.
  • The probability of receiving a low-value card.
  • The probability of receiving a card above the pack’s cost.
  • The maximum possible outcome.
  • Any card-specific probabilities provided.

For a referral reward, consider whether you would prefer a less uneven distribution or accept a greater chance of a disappointing result in exchange for the possibility of something larger.

Can you calculate which setting is best?

Only if the available information is detailed enough.

An expected-value calculation multiplies each possible outcome by its probability, then adds those results together.

However, a broad category such as £10–£750 does not tell you how likely each card within that range is. You cannot assume outcomes are evenly distributed or use the midpoint as a reliable average.

Without complete probabilities and realistic sale values, we cannot reliably rank the settings by expected cash return.

Why do my “Rare” cards keep coming out near the bottom of the range?

A rarity label is a category, rather than a promise that your card will sit near the top of its advertised value range.

If a Rare category spans a wide range, your card can qualify as Rare while still being worth relatively little.

There are also two different probabilities to consider:

  1. The chance of landing in the Rare category.
  2. The chance of receiving a particular card within that category.

A category’s overall percentage does not mean every card inside it is equally likely.

Likewise, several low-value pulls do not establish that a high-value card is now due. Avoid spending more simply to chase a result you feel should have arrived already.

Can you withdraw your deposit without spending it?

Do not assume your qualifying deposit can be immediately withdrawn untouched.

The published terms describe deposited platform credit as non-withdrawable. Withdrawable funds are treated separately as eligible sale proceeds. Ordinary referral-pack items have cash sale treatment, subject to the applicable offer. CrownCards

This distinction matters when assessing the offer. A qualifying deposit is an amount you pay into the platform; it should not automatically be treated as money you can take straight back out.

Before depositing, check the funding screen and ask support if it is unclear how the resulting balance can be used.

How to withdraw from Crown Cards

Start by checking your available withdrawal balance, rather than the overall balance displayed elsewhere in your account.

Then:

  1. Review and accept the sell-back offer for any card you want to sell.
  2. Open the withdrawal section.
  3. Complete identity verification.
  4. Select an available payout method and enter the amount.
  5. Check the fee, currency conversion, arrival estimate and net payment.
  6. Read any bonus-forfeiture warning before confirming.

Crown Cards requires identity verification for withdrawals. Its terms also state that requesting a withdrawal forfeits remaining Bonus Cash, including grants with unfinished play-through requirements. CrownCards

Crown Cards withdrawal fees: our example quotes

The following figures come from withdrawal previews supplied for this guide. They are quotes, rather than evidence that the payments have completed.

Withdrawal amountQuoted feeAmount to receiveEffective fee
£29.04£1.64£27.405.65%
£121.81£2.11£119.701.73%
£124.22£2.11£122.111.70%
£134.62£2.17£132.451.61%
£146.28£2.23£144.051.52%
£472.43£7.09£465.341.50%

The clear observation is that the smallest withdrawal carried a substantially higher effective charge.

The larger £472.43 quote was almost exactly 1.5%.

Is the fee £1.50 plus a percentage?

Several smaller quotes closely resemble £1.50 plus 0.5%. However, the £472.43 quote does not follow that formula: it would produce a fee of approximately £3.86, rather than £7.09.

One possible explanation is that the charge is approximately the higher of:

  • £1.50 plus 0.5%, or
  • 1.5% of the withdrawal.

That model comes close to the examples, but does not reproduce every quote exactly.

We have not confirmed it as Crown Cards’ official fee schedule. Currency conversion, rounding, payment-provider rules or other factors may affect the quote.

The fee displayed before confirmation is the figure to use.

When is the best time to withdraw?

Avoid assuming that waiting for the biggest possible balance always saves money.

Our examples suggest there can be a benefit to combining small balances. A £1.64 charge on £29.04 takes a much bigger proportion than a £7.09 charge on £472.43.

However, if your quote has already reached a straight percentage charge, waiting longer may provide no further saving.

For example, if the charge is 1.5%:

Withdrawal patternTotal withdrawnTotal fee
One withdrawal of £150£150£2.25
Two withdrawals of £150£300£4.50
One withdrawal of £300£300£4.50
One withdrawal of £1,000£1,000£15

Why do we mention £150?

Under the possible formula above, both calculations meet at £150:

£1.50 + 0.5% of £150 = £2.25

1.5% of £150 = £2.25

That makes roughly £150 a useful comparison point. It is not a verified fee threshold or a requirement to keep money on the platform.

Compare your live quote with the examples. There is little reason to hold a much larger balance solely for fee savings if the percentage has stopped falling.

Cash balance versus Bonus Cash

These should be assessed separately.

Balance or rewardWhat to check
Deposited platform creditRestrictions on use and withdrawal
Eligible sale proceedsAmount available in the withdrawal section
Bonus CashSpend conditions, expiry and forfeiture
Referral packReward-specific sale and shipping treatment

Bonus Cash itself is non-withdrawable. Any release of associated sale proceeds depends on the applicable conditions. There is no universal play-through multiplier in the promotional terms. CrownCards

If the withdrawal preview says you will forfeit 15p of Bonus Cash, that is separate from the withdrawal fee. Do not count promotional credit as cash already available to your bank account.

How long do withdrawals take?

Our supplied previews showed different estimates: some said 19 hours, while later quotes said three days.

These are the estimates displayed for those particular transactions. They do not establish a universal processing time or prove that a withdrawal completed within that period.

Use your own preview and allow for verification or payment review.

Can UK users have cards shipped?

Check this carefully before choosing physical delivery.

The web FAQ says shipping is available to the UK, but the separate published shipping policy says shipments are limited to US domestic addresses. Those sources conflict. Confirm your UK address is supported and obtain a full quote before relying on delivery. CrownCards

When comparing delivery with selling back, consider the complete cost of receiving the card, rather than its displayed value alone.

Can you earn more free packs by referring friends?

If your account offers referral rewards, you can share your own code and follow the qualifying conditions displayed.

Check what your friend must do, which reward each person receives and whether there are limits or deadlines. Do not assume every sign-up earns a pack.

Crown Cards permits one account per person and excludes self-referrals. Referral recommendations should disclose the incentive. CrownCards

Referral packs can produce variable outcomes, so they should not be described as a fixed payment per friend.

Is Crown Cards worth trying?

The referral offer may appeal to adults interested in collectible cards who understand the deposit conditions and variable reward.

Before joining, establish three things:

  • What you must pay: the exact qualifying deposit and its restrictions.
  • What you receive: the actual referral pack, its minimum outcome and its odds.
  • What you can cash out: the eligible sale proceeds after fees.

Our withdrawal examples show why small cash-outs deserve attention. They also show why we would not promise that holding £1,000 is cheaper than making several moderately sized withdrawals.

Use code if you decide to join, check the live offer before depositing, and judge the result by the money you can actually withdraw—not the largest card advertised.
