If you like free money, freebies and finding unusual ways to make a bit of extra cash, Whatnot live giveaways are one of the more interesting ones we've come across.
Whatnot is a live-streaming shopping app where sellers auction products in real time, covering everything from gold and silver bullion to trainers, clothing, collectibles, Pokémon cards and more.
Even better, new users can currently claim £10-£200+ worth of free Whatnot credit with no deposit or purchase required.
How the Whatnot free credit works
Simply:
The amount you receive can vary, but new users can get between £10 and £200 worth of credit.
For example, you could use your credit to grab something like:
- 🍬 Sweets from sellers such as thesweetiepeople
- 👕 Clothing bargains
- 🃏 Collectibles
- 🪙 Gold or silver items
A £10 item may only require you to pay the postage cost, meaning you can potentially get a genuine freebie delivered.
Categories → Search → Products
Then filter for things like:
- UK sellers
- Buy It Now listings
This makes it much easier to spend your credit without waiting for auctions.
What are Whatnot giveaways?
Aside from the free sign-up credit, Whatnot also runs live giveaways during streams.
Sellers give away actual products completely free, with winners chosen randomly by Whatnot. Giveaways can run for up to five minutes, and the winner is automatically selected when the timer ends.
To enter, you simply join a live stream, tap the giveaway button and wait to see if you win.
There are several different giveaway types:
🎁 Standard Giveaways
These are the normal giveaways where anyone watching the stream can enter once the giveaway goes live.
⭐ Follower-only Giveaways
Similar to standard giveaways, but the seller can restrict entries to people following their Whatnot account.
🛒 Buyer Appreciation Giveaways
These are aimed at people who have purchased from a seller during a show. They are designed as a thank you to buyers rather than a normal free entry giveaway.
For normal free giveaways, you don't need to buy anything.
The best Whatnot giveaway pages we've found
We've spent time testing different streams, and the biggest opportunities seem to come from sellers giving away higher-value items.
The general rule:
The bigger and more established the seller, the better the giveaways tend to be.
The downside is that more people are watching, so your odds can be lower.
Here are some of the best pages we've found:
🥇 OliversBullion — Gold & Silver Giveaways
Probably our favourite category.
Bullion sellers often run giveaways featuring:
- Gold coins
- Silver coins
- Precious metal products
We've seen streams with £500 gold giveaways.
The downside? You may need to sit through a lot of selling before the giveaway appears.
A good strategy is:
- Put the stream on in the background
- Keep your phone nearby
- When you hear them announce a giveaway, open the app and enter
Sometimes sellers announce things like:
"On my next stream I'm doing a huge giveaway" - so it can be worth following bigger sellers and checking back.
🥈 NextDayBullion — Bullion Giveaways
Another strong option if you're chasing bigger-value prizes.
Bullion giveaways are attractive because even a small chance at winning can have a great upside.
For example:
- 300 people enter
- Prize is £100+ of silver/gold
Your chance may only be around 1 in 300, but the entry cost is literally £0.
🥉 AJUSNKRS — Trainers & Fashion
If gold isn't your thing, sneaker and fashion streams are another good option.
Common giveaways include:
- Trainers
- Streetwear
- Clothing
- Accessories
These are usually easier to watch because there is more constant activity compared with some bullion streams.
How to maximise your chances
A few simple tricks:
1. Follow bigger sellers
The larger sellers usually have:
✅ More regular streams
✅ More viewers
✅ More giveaways
✅ Better prizes
2. Leave streams running in the background
You don't need to stare at Whatnot all day.
A good method:
- Open a stream
- Turn the volume down
- Carry on with something else
- Jump back in when you hear "giveaway"
3. Enter early
Some giveaways only run for a short period, so being active in the stream helps.
Remember, you must be present in the show when the winner is selected to be eligible.
4. Don't expect to win every time
Like any giveaway, the odds depend on how many people enter.
A £500 gold giveaway might attract hundreds of people, meaning your chance could be relatively small.
But because entry is free, there is no downside to adding it into your normal "freebie hunting" routine.
Why do sellers give away expensive items?
It might seem strange that sellers give away gold, trainers or collectibles for free.
The reason is simple: attention.
Live shopping is competitive, and giveaways help sellers:
- Attract more viewers
- Gain followers
- Keep people watching longer
- Create excitement around their streams
- Encourage future purchases
A seller might give away a £100 item but gain hundreds of new followers and future customers.
Is Whatnot worth trying?
For most people, yes.
The combination of:
✅ £10-£200 free sign-up credit
✅ Completely free giveaway entries
✅ Chance to win high-value prizes
✅ No deposit required
Makes it one of the more interesting freebies currently available.
You probably won't win a £500 gold giveaway overnight, but spending a few minutes checking streams could genuinely land you something valuable.
