Yes — IG Trading is authorised and regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Their UK entities include IG Markets Ltd, IG Trading and Investments Ltd, and IG Index Ltd.
Client funds are held in segregated bank accounts at top-tier banks (not mixed with the company’s funds), so client money is ring-fenced even if IG were to become insolvent.
For eligible accounts, investors may also be protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to relevant compensation limits — which provides extra security compared with unregulated platforms.
IG also implements measures like negative-balance protection for retail clients (so they can’t lose more than they deposit) when using leveraged products.

For standard share dealing (UK, US, EU, and many other markets), IG charges £0 commission online for many trades (for UK, US, EU shares) under its modern fee scheme.
There can be a platform / custody fee of £24 per quarter (i.e. £96/year) if you make fewer than 3 trades in that quarter — but that fee is waived if you trade 3 or more times in the quarter.
For certain services (manual currency conversions, phone-based share dealing, non-standard accounts) there are fees and charges.
For more advanced products (CFDs, spread bets, forex, derivatives) fees come via spreads, overnight financing, currency conversion fees, etc.
There are no deposit or withdrawal fees for standard share dealing / investment accounts.
